  • Several GNU/Linux distributions have official packages for Dynare: Debian

  • Ubuntu

  • Linux Mint

  • Arch Linux

  • openSUSE

Note that on Debian, Ubuntu and Linux Mint, you also need to install the dynare-matlab package if you want MATLAB support. Official packages may not correspond to the latest version of Dynare, depending on the release schedule of the distributions.

Dynare is free software, which means that it can be downloaded free of charge, that its source code is freely available, and that it can be used for both non-profit and for-profit purposes. Most of the source files are covered by the GNU General Public Licence version 3 or later (there are some exceptions to this, see the file license.txt in Dynare distribution).

If you have problems downloading Matlab, call MathWorks support at 508-647-7000 Monday thru Friday from 08:30-20:00 Eastern Time. Only current SDSU faculty, staff and students are covered by our TAH license.

For the first step: install the proper version of the JDK. I have downloaded Java 1.7.0_79-b15 and replaced the jre folder in /Applications/MATLAB_R2016b.app/sys/java/jre/maci64 to the one from /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.7.0_79.jdk/Contents/Home. This step is to make sure that the JAVA version MATLAB is using is the one I downloaded. I also checked it in MATLAB via

Download Kubios HRV Scientific installer from the links below and install it into your computer (you will need a license key to activate the software on your computer). NOTE: Matlab Runtime (MCR) version that is required to run Kubios HRV Scientific, is included in Windows and macOS installers (macOS installer downloads the MCR when necessary).

Download Kubios HRV Standard installer from the links below and install it into your computer (you will need the license key to activate the software on your computer). The solution author at MathWorks appended all of these .xml-files to his post. I downloaded the files and copied gfortran.xml to the above mentioned folder. This granted partial success in that it made MATLAB actually look for gfortran when running the mex setup.

April 18, 2021 : processesFinding running processes of a particular typeIf you need to find processes running on your computer of a certain type, here are couple of functions that will make this easy and quick to do.Depending on your shell, paste the two appropriate lines below to its initialization file. Then launch a new terminal or source that file.# for bash - add them to your .bash_profile or .bashrc# for zsh - add them to your .zshrc# process userpu () egrep "$1pui () grep -v " $1 # for tcsh - add them to your .tcshrc/.cshrc# process useralias pu 'ps auxw egrep "\!^%MEM" grep -v " \!^%MEM"'alias pui "ps auxw egrep -i '\!^%MEM' grep -v ' \!^%MEM'"The pui is simply the case-insensitive version. Modify the aboveto suit your needs or tastes - they are just slightly enhanced versionsof ps auxw grep name-of-something.Usage Examples: - To find all processes related to matlab, do pu matl or pu matlab or pui matlab - To find all the python process, do pu python or pui python - To find all processes related to google, do pui goog - To find all processes related to Google Chrome, do pui "google chrome" - It is interesting to see how many Adobe related processes are running even when you are not using any of Adobe apps. You may be surprised. For this, do pu Adobe or pui adobe If any of the above processes are wedged and you wish to kill them, get thePIDs from the relevant processes found and then use the kill command toterminate them. The syntax is for example kill pid1 pid2 pid3

April 12, 2021 : unidentifiedUnidentified Developer ProblemIf you have a package or app that cannot be opened due to an errorthat says it is from an unidentified developer and you are certain ofthe validity of the package, then you may override the warning viaany one of the following methods. The availability of these methodsmay vary with the version of macOS or app. - Right-click on package or app > open. You will get a unidentified developerwarning and you are asked whether you are sure you wish to open it or cancel.Click on open. Note that this does not work on a symlink and so do it onthe original file. - System pref > security. You should see the package or app is from an unidentified developer. Click on open anyway. - The reason for the security warning is due to a quarantine tag picked upwhen you downloaded the file. You could delete that tag via the command lineas follows. xattr -d com.apple.quarantine downloaded-file
