Brief Job Description
• Ensure the environment is safe, warm and nurturing for each individual child that the environment is
stimulating to encourage creativity and cognitive development of children.
• Assist students with homework from primary school.
• Ensure that all areas are tidy, attractively arranged, have materials that are rotated and of current
interest to the children set out to promote play and creativity.
• Maintain inventory of all equipment and materials being used so that equipment can be kept in good
repair and supplies can be purchased in time for upcoming needs.
• Provide and encourage children to participate in a variety of activities.
• Identify and provide opportunities to extend children's written and spoken language experiences.
• Support child's developing self-esteem.
• Preforms miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Must pass pre-employment FBI/ SLED Criminal Background Check & Central Abuse Registry
• Must have proof of High School Diploma or GED
• Must have a minimum of 6 months experience in a licensed childcare facility.
• Current CPR/ 1st Aid Certification preferred (must obtain within 3 months of date of hire).
